Abstract:

Rajasthan is one of the most preferred tourist destinations in India that benefited in contributing to its growing economy. The presence of natural as well as cultural heritage where geographic location creates diversity is one of the major reasons behind the excessive tourist attraction. However, in the state, certain limitations in infrastructure are present like poor transportation facilities and lack of local community engagement. In this scenario, improvement can be done with collaboration between both the public and private sectors to generate funds to benefit local businesses and engage sustainability surrounding the tourist destination to attract more foreign visitors. The research methodology to understand tourism in Rajasthan using a mix-method approach. It defines research philosophy, approach, strategy, design, sampling, data gathering, and data analysis, validating, reliable, and ensuring ethics. It involves quantitative survey coupled with qualitative thematic analysis in offering holistic insight. Chapter four extracted secondary data from the selected sources that have been analysed through the thematic method by extracting codes and interpreting the primary ideas. For instance, from the empirical evidence, a 28% increase since 2019 in the tourism sector of Rajasthan can be observed that contributed to improving the socio-economic and cultural factors in the state. A positive influence can also be observed among the local community due to increasing opportunities to generate stable sources of income. However, challenges like infrastructural efficiency and poor transportation can also be observed. In response to these challenges, the government has taken various sustainable practices that ensure appropriate development of the particular sector to improve livelihood among individuals.
