Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá filmem Legally Blonde a analyzuje, jakým způsobem odráží potřebu feminismu v moderní společnosti. Přestože je film prezentován jako komedie, ztotožňuje se s hodnotami třetí vlny feminismu, konkrétně s girlie feminismem. Úvodní část poskytuje obecný přehled o filmu a jeho popularitě, zatímco teoretické pozadí se zabývá historií feminismu a feministickou filmovou teorií, aby podpořilo analýzu. Praktická část zkoumá konkrétní scény, které ilustrují feministické principy, jako je rovnost, sesterství a solidarita. Cílem je dokázat, že Legally Blonde prosazuje feministickou ideologii konzistentní s třetí vlnou, a proto ji lze zařadit do jejího rámce.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the film Legally Blonde to analyse how it supports the need for feminism in contemporary society. Despite being marketed as a comedy, the film aligns with the values of third-wave feminism, specifically girlie feminism. The initial part provides an overview of the film and its popularity, while the theoretical background delves into the history of feminism and feminist film theory to support the analysis. The practical section examines specific scenes to illustrate feminist ideals such as equality, sisterhood, and solidarity. The aim is to prove Legally Blonde promotes feminist ideology consistent with the third wave and, therefore, can be categorised as a part of it.
