Economic Activity Development of Selected Ecclesiastical Juridic Persons in the Light of Law No. 428/2012 of the Czech Statute Book

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá důsledky přijetí zákona č. 428/2012 Sb., o majetkovém vyrovnání s církvemi a náboženskými společnostmi na hospodaření vybraných církevních právnických osob. Po vysvětlení základních pojmů a přehledu dějin církevního majetku v Českých zemích je prezentován tzv. restituční zákon. Na čtyřech případových studiích jsou zkoumány vlivy účinnosti tohoto zákona na hospodaření církevních právnických osob. Závěr práce je vyhrazen odpovědi na otázku, zda důsledky platnosti zákona mají vliv na ekonomickou soběstačnost církevních subjektů a zda jim pomáhají v plnění jejich poslání.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the impact of the passed Law No. 428/2012 published in the Czech Statute Book, about property settlement with the Churches and religious societies, on the economic activities of chosen ecclesiastical juridic persons. After the explanation of the basic terms and the historical overview of the Church property in the Czech lands, the so-called Restitution Law is presented. In four case studies the impact of this Law on the economic activities of the selected ecclesiastical bodies is investigated. In its conclusion the thesis answers the question whether the valid Law influences the economic self-sufficiency of the ecclesiastical entities and whether its consequences help them to fulfil their mission.
