Possibilities and limits of social work with the elderly in homes for the elderly people

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na možnosti a limity sociální práce se seniory v domovech pro seniory. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou část a výzkumnou část. První teoretická část práce se zaměřuje na témata týkající se stáří v ústavní péči, a péčí o seniory jako takovou. Tato práce se dále zaměřuje na sociální práci v domově pro seniory, adaptaci seniora na domov pro seniory, jaké služby domovy pro seniory poskytují a jaká je tam role sociální práce. Dále je pozornost věnována také přístupu zaměřenému na člověka, popsány jsou podmínky tohoto přístupu a propojení přístupu zaměřeného na člověka se sociální prací se seniory. Druhá výzkumná část diplomové práce je věnována kvalitativnímu výzkumu. Je v ní popsána metodologie výzkumu, stanovený cíl, metoda a strategie výzkumu, analýza dat, technika sběru dat, výzkumná jednotka, průběh výzkumu a jeho závěr. Analýza dat byla provedena pomocí metody zakotvené teorie a zdrojem údajů bylo pět polostrukturovaných rozhovorů.

Abstract:

The Diploma thesis focuses on opportunities and limits of social work with the elderly in nursing homes. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and research. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on topics related to an old age in institutional care and the care of the elderly itself. The thesis also focuses on social work in nursing homes, the adaptation of elderly to nursing home, which services nursing homes provide and what the role of social work is in nursing homes. The attention is also paid to a person-centered approach. There is a description of the person-centered approach as well as its interconnection with the social work with elderly. The second part of the thesis is qualitative research. Methodology of the research, defined aim of the research, research method and strategy, data analysis, data collection technique, research unit and process and results of the research are all described in the second part of the thesis. The data analysis was performed by using the grounded theory method. Five semi-structured interviews were the source of the data for the research.
