Abstract:

Vzdělávání je historicky oblast, která patří učitelům. Avšak zapojení informačních technologií do vzdělávání přináší nové metody, které můžou celý učící proces posunout kupředu. Výhodou počítačových systémů je jejich výkonost při plnění opakujících se úkolů (například vyhodnocování domácích úkolů) a jejich schopnost se přizpůsobit potřebám jednotlivých studentů. Část práce učitelů tedy může být přenechána počítačům a ti pak mohou využít informace o studentech nasbírané počítačovým systémem a zaměřit se na důležitější aspekty výuky, které vyžadují lidské uvažování a empatii. Tyto systémy se obecně nazývají Inteligentní výukové systémy a v této práci se zaměřujeme na techniky, které jim umožňují se chovat skutečně adaptivně. Jmenovitě jde o studentské modely, které umožňují odhadnout znalosti studentů, a techniky, které mohou být alternativou nebo doplněním ruční organizace obsahu těchto systémů. Spektrum možných zaměření takovýchto systémů je široké a pokrývá většinu učiva (např. biologie, jazyky, zeměpis) ale my se především soustředíme na adaptivní procvičování základů matematiky (především aritmetické operace). Konkrétně naše práce má dva hlavní cíle. První je prozkoumání automatických a poloautomatických metod konstrukce modelu znalostí (v tomto případě znalostí základů matematiky). Druhý je vyvinutí studentských modelů, které jsou vhodné pro použití ve vybraném kontextu. To především znamená zapojení řešitelských časů do modelů, které zpravidla pracují pouze se správností odpovědi. Důležitou součástí práce je také validace nových metod a technik na vlastním systému zaměřenému na adaptivní procvičování základů matematiky.

Abstract:

Education is a historically domain of teachers. However, connection of information technologies and education brings new methods which can move whole learning process forward. The advantage of computer systems is their efficiency in repetitive tasks (i.e. evaluation of homework) and their adaptability to an individual student needs. Therefore, part of teachers' work can be left to computers and then they can use information about students from the computer system and focus on more important tasks which require human reasoning and empathy. These systems are generally called Intelligent tutoring systems and in this work we focus on techniques which allow them to behave truly adaptively. They are student modeling techniques which are used to estimate knowledge of the students and techniques which can be alternative or supplement to manual organization of content of the systems. The range of possible focuses of these systems is wide and cover most of subjects (e.g. biology, languages, geography) but we are especially interested in adaptive practice of basic mathematics (mostly arithmetic operations). More specifically, our work have two main goals. The first one is exploration of the automatic and semiautomatic methods for the construction of the model of knowledge domain (in this case, basic mathematics). The second one is developing a student models which are suitable for our setting. That means especially the involvement of response times to models, which mostly work only with correctness of responses. An important part of the work is also to validate new models and techniques on own system which is focused on adaptive practise of basic mathematics.
