The Project to Reduce the Cost and Environmental Impact of Production in a Selected Company

Abstract:

Cílem práce je navrhnout a implementovat projekt, který povede ke snížení nákladovosti a dopadů výroby na životní prostředí. Diplomová práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části jsou zpracovány poznatky formou literární rešerše, které souvisejí s konkurenceschopností podniku, nákladovostí a vlivem výroby na životní prostředí. Tyto informace jsou následně aplikované v navazující praktické části. Praktická část je složena z analýzy současného stavu vybrané společnosti z pohledu nákladů a jejich dělení, finanční situace a konkurenceschopnosti. Součástí této analýzy je i identifikace energetické náročnosti výroby z pohledu elektrické energie a zemního plynu a jejich uhlíkové stopy s cílem stanovení jejich dopadu na životní prostředí. V projektové části je na základě provedených analýz navržen samotný projekt implementace konkrétních postupných kroků vedoucích ke snížení nákladovosti a dopadů výroby na životní prostředí, které naplňují zadání diplomové práce. V závěru je projekt podroben nákladové analýze včetně výpočtu doby návratnosti a snížení emisí CO2. Práce přináší řadu prakticky využitelných cenných poznatků o možnostech snižování nákladovosti a dopadů výroby na životní prostředí, které lze v širším kontextu použít v dalších podobných provozech s předpokladem, že navržený projekt bude mít další pozitivní dopad na ekonomiku a konkurenceschopnost firmy.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to design and implement a project that will lead to a reduction in the cost and environmental impact of production. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part, the knowledge in the form of a literature search related to the competitiveness of the company, cost and environmental impact of production is elaborated. This information is then applied in the subsequent practical part. The practical part consists of an analysis of the current state of the selected company in terms of costs and their division, financial situation and competitiveness. This analysis includes the identification of the energy intensity of production in terms of electricity and natural gas and their carbon footprint with the aim and determination of their environmental impact. In the project part, based on the analyses carried out, the actual project is designed to implement specific incremental steps leading to the reduction of the cost and environmental impact of production, which fulfill the thesis assignment. Finally, the project is subjected to a cost analysis including the calculation of payback time and CO2 emission reduction. The thesis provides a number of practically applicable valuable insights into the possibilities of reducing the cost and environmental impacts of production, which can be applied in a broader context to other similar operations, with the assumption that and the proposed project will have a further positive impact on the economy and competitiveness of the company.
