Influence of Reading Workshops on Pupils´ Readership at Primary School

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá čtenářskými dílnami a jejich vlivem na čtenářství žáků na prvním stupni základních škol. Cílem práce bylo prostřednictvím hospitací a vlastních realizací dílen čtení zjistit, jakou podobu dnešní dílny mohou mít a na základě pozorování a rozhovorů s žáky popsat možný vliv na jejich čtenářské chování. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. Teoretická část vymezuje základní cíle literární výchovy, odkazuje na podporu čtenářství ve školních vzdělávacích plánech, charakterizuje čtenářství, čtenáře a čtenářské chování. Dotýká se také stavu dětského čtenářství a jeho rozvoje. Teoretická část dále blíže popisuje čtenářské dílny, jejich pravidla, průběh a organizaci. Čtenářské dílny vycházejí z programu Čtením a psaním ke kritickému myšlení a staví hodiny na třífázovém učení evokace-uvědomění-reflexe. Praktická část charakterizuje obě základní školy, ve kterých byl výzkum proveden. Jsou zde popsány provedené náslechy a analýzy čtenářských dílen. Analýzu doplnil rozhovor se skupinou žáků, kteří formátem dílny čtení procházejí pravidelně od první třídy. Zjištěné výsledky byly podpořeny záznamy z evidence čtenářských pokroků sledované skupiny.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with reading workshops and their influence on readership of pupils in primary school. The aim of this thesis was to find out what form today's workshops can take through visits and my own implementation of reading workshops and to describe the possible influence on readership behaviour based on observations and interviews with pupils. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part defines main aims of literary education, refers to support of readership in school education plans, characterizes readership, readers and their behaviour. It also touches on the state of children's readership and its development. The theoretical part describes reading workshops, their rules, execution and organisation in more detail. Reading workshops are based on the programme Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking and lessons are built on three-phase learning evocation-awareness-reflection. The empirical part characterises both primary schools where the research was conducted. The listening sessions and reading workshops analyses are also described. The analysis was enhanced by an interview with a group of pupils who attend reading workshop regularly since the first grade. The results were supported by records from the registry of readership progress of the monitored group.
