Anotace:

Since 1924 people have been contemplating about the influence of the power struggle between the owners of a firm and their agents. Despite numerous researches that have been produced over the years, a clear consensus about the results of that struggle on the finances of a firm has not surfaced. This study has looked into a number of 32 studies and over 160.000 observations to get a clearer overview of the results. The analysis of the data was done using a simple counting mechanism as well as the Hunter-Schmidt method. The conclusion is rather unsatisfying. It is difficult to see any meaningful relationship between the ownership structure of a firm and its financial performance.
