The primary aim of this bachelor thesis is to introduce and give an overview of the French-based Mauritian creole. The latter is the lingua franca of an island in the Indian Ocean named Mauritius. Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je seznámit a nastínit základní přehled mauricijské kreolštiny, která vychází z francouzštiny. Tato řeč byla vytvořena otroky během kolonizace ostrova Mauricius, který se nachází v Indickém oceánu. V současnosti je rodným jazykem 90 % obyvatelstva ostrova. Avšak tato řeč není úředním jazykem.
