Vztah mezi machiavelismem a vybranými osobnostními dimenzemi prosociálního chování

Abstract:

Tématem práce je vztah mezi machiavelismem a vybranými dimezemi prosociálního chování. Na základě teoretické analýzy práce identifikuje specifické dimenze ve kterých se prosociální chování může projevovat, vymezuje ho od příbuzných pojmů a popisuje vybrané teorie vysvětlující fenomén prosociálního chování. Teoretická část rovněž popisuje machiavelismus a to od jeho filozofických kořenů až po machiavelismus v pracovním kontextu. Důraz je kladen na nedůvěru vůči ostatním, která se stává základem pro manipulaci, pomocí níž machiavelisté udržují v sociálních interakcích kontrolu, akumulují moc a sociální status. Práce přihlíží na relevantní výzkumy, které se podobnou problematikou již zabývali. Machiavelismus a prosociální chování jsou měřeny pomocí nástrojů PTM a MPS na výzkumném souboru 120 respondentů, přičemž vztah mezi oběma fenomény je ve výzkumné části zkoumán blíže a to jak v kontextu rozdílů mezi pohlavími a profesemi, tak v souvislosti s již proběhlými výzkumy, ze kterých práce čerpá. Práce nalézá zápornou korelaci mezi altruismem a všemi složkami machiavelismu. Veřejné prosociální chování se dle získaných dat rovněž projevuje univerzální korelací vůči machiavelismu, avšak v tomto případě se jedná o kladnou korelaci. Nejsilnější je evidována korelace vůči touze po kontrole, kterou se osoby s vysokou mírou machiavelismu mohou projevovat. Práce nalézá zápornou korelaci i mezi vyžádaným prosociálním chováním a nedůvěrou vůči ostatním. Mezi ženami a muži je nalezen statisticky významný rozdíl v dimenzi emocionálního prosociálního chování, přičemž ženy dosahují v této oblasti vyšších hodnot než muži. Pohlaví se rovněž liší povahou korelace této dimenze vůči amorální manipulaci. Zatímco u žen je korelace mezi prosociálním chováním a amorální manipulací záporná, u mužů je kladná. U lékařské profese nalézáme vyšší míru krizového prosociálního chování, zatímco lidé v IT sektoru se projevili vyšší mírou touhy po kontrole.

Abstract:

The main topic of this thesis is the relationship between machiavellianism and chosen dimensions of prosocial behavior. Based upon the theoretical analysis, we identify specific dimensions in which prosocial behavior can demonstrate itself. We differentiate it from similar terms and describe chosen theories that aim to explain the phenomena of prosocial behavior. The theoretical part also describes machiavellianism from its philosophical roots to machiavellianism in the modern workplace context. We specify distrust of others as a basis for manipulation that serves machiavellians to retain control in social interactions and accumulate power and social status. The thesis notes relevant research devoted to a similar topic. Machiavellianism and prosocial behavior are measured using PTM and MPS in a research sample of 120 respondents. The relationship of the two aforementioned phenomena is in the research part of the thesis studied more closely in the context of the difference between sexes and professions. We also study the results concerning already conducted research from which this thesis draws. The thesis finds a negative correlation between altruism and all the subscales of machiavellism. Based on the gathered data, public prosocial behavior also proves to be universally correlated with machiavellism, although the correlation is positive in this case. The strongest correlation is to need for control. Persons high in machiavellianism can express a high need for control. The thesis finds a negative correlation between compliant prosocial behavior and distrust of others. We detect a statistically significant difference in the dimension of emotional prosocial behavior between women and men, with women scoring higher in this area than men. Sexes also differ in the nature of the correlation between this dimension and amoral manipulation. Whereas with women, the correlation between prosocial behavior and amoral manipulation is negative, with men, it proves to be positive. Doctors prove to be higher in dire prosocial behavior, whereas those who worked in the IT sector prove to possess a higher score of need for control.
