Brewery development and its economy influence on a selected locality

Abstract:

Tato práce je věnovaná analýze vývoje pivovarnického odvětví oblasti města Plzně. Cílem této bakalářské práce je zhodnocení ekonomického přínosu společnosti Plzeňského Prazdroje ve městě Plzeň a jeho okolí. Součástí je analýza příležitostí pivovarnictví, které by napomohli rozvoji města. Hlavním subjektem této práce je společnost Plzeňský Prazdroj. Jeden z nejvýznamnějších představitelů pivovarnictví u nás. Tato práce byla zpracovaná na základě provedení rozboru sekundárních dat, které byly získané z dostupné literatury, statistických údajů Českého statistického úřadu a výročních zpráv podniku Plzeňského Prazdroje. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena na 3 části, teoreticko – metodologickou, analytickou a návrhovou. Teoreticko – metodologická část je zaměřená na historický vývoj pivovarnictví v Čechách a města Plzeň, systému chráněných zeměpisných označení a vysvětlení hlavních makroekonomických ukazatelů. Analytická část je věnovaná vyhodnocení sekundárních dat souvisejících s podnikem Plzeňský Prazdroj. Návrhová část se zabývá návrhy námětů a poznatků souvisejících s výsledky analytické části. Závěrem práce je celkové zhodnocení přínosů plzeňského pivovaru.

Abstract:

This thesis is devoted to the analysis regarding the development of the brewing industry in the area of the city of Pilsen. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the economic benefit of the company Plzeňský Prazdroj in the city of Pilsen and its surroundings. Moreover, it includes the analysis of brewing opportunities that would help the city in terms of its development and innovation. The main backbone of this work is Plzeňský Prazdroj, which represents one of the most significant breweries in our country. This bachelor thesis elaborates on the basis of the analysis of secondary data, which were obtained from available literature, statistical data from the Czech Statistical Office and official published Annual reports of the company Plzeňský Prazdroj. The bachelor thesis is divided into 3 parts: theoretical - methodological, analytical and design. First, the theoretical and methodological part focus on the historical development of brewing industry in Bohemia and the city of Pilsen, the system of protected geographical indications and explanation of the main macroeconomic indicators. Second, the analytical part is devoted to the evaluation of secondary data related to Plzeňský Prazdroj. Third, the design part deals with suggestions and findings which resulted from the analytical part. The conclusion of the thesis is an overall evaluation of the contributions of the Pilsen brewery.
