Calculus in polar coordinates

Abstract:

Práce představuje polární souřadnice a jejich vztah vůči kartézským souřadnicím. Dále uvádí použití polárních souřadnic k reprezentaci křivek a ploch jimi ohraničených. V práci se zaobírám převody kartézských rovnic křivek do polárních rovnic a kreslení grafů křivek s pomocí tohoto vyjádření. V druhé polovině práce hledám parametrické rovnice křivky a s jejich pomocí odvozuji parametrické vyjádření i směrnicový tvar rovnice tečny ke křivce v daném bodě. Dále řeším úlohy metrického charakteru - délku křivky, obsah plochy pod křivkou. Závěr práce se věnuje využití polárních souřadnic v některých úlohách matematické analýzy.

Abstract:

The work presents the polar coordinates and their relationship to the Cartesian coordinate system. It also shows the use of polar coordinates in the representation of curves and surfaces bounded by them. In this work we treat the replacing the Cartesian equations by polar equations of curves and plotting curves using this representation. In the second half of the thesis we are looking for parametric equation of the curve, and deriving the parametric equation of the tangent to the curve at a point. We solve metric problems - the length of the curve, area under the curve. On the end we are using the polar coordinates in some tasks of calculus.
