Na konci druhé světové války bylo poničeno velké množství velmi hodnotných historických měst. Na území dnešní České republiky naštěstí nedošlo k takovým ztrátám jako v zahraničí. Přesto bylo nevyhnutelné vytvořit systematický plán a začít s památkovou ochranou, jinak bychom o tyto cenné celky navždy přišli. Abstract:
At the end of World war II there were many historical towns, which were damaged. In the area of today's Czech republic harm wasn't as large as than other countries. In spite of it was necessary to create systematic plan to protect town centres and our cultural heritage.
