The main focus of the paper is to describe and analyze the contextual aspects of William Golding's Lord of the Flies and compare them to R. M. Ballantyne's The Coral Island. The paper begins with an introduction to the lives of both authors and their works. Then in the following part the paper describes the nineteenth and the twentieth century correlating to both novels. Abstract:
Tato práce se zabývá popsáním a analýzou kontextů románu Williama Goldinga Pán Much a porovnává je s románem R. M. Ballantyna Korálový Ostrov. V úvodní části jsou popsány životy a díla obou autorů. V následující části je popsáno devatenácté a dvacáté století, pojící se k románům. Dále se práce soustředí na porovnání a analýzu postav a motivů obou románů a jak se pojí k historickým kontextům.
