Eco-friendly companies in the UK

Abstract:

This thesis consists of two parts, theoretical one, and practical one. The main goal of the theoretical part is to analyze and summarize ecologically friendly concepts, their objectives, and influence on the environment. Furthermore, we will study a negative impact of apparel manufacturing on the global wellbeing. Besides that, a rise of eco-friendly apparel companies will be studied and factors that influence the consumer choice of eco-friendly clothes will be thoroughly explained. In the practical part of the thesis, the CSR strategies of the two largest apparel manufacturers in the UK, which are Next and Marks&Spencer, will be evaluated and compared in order to find the best practices of doing an ethical business. To prove the findings with valuable data, a research will be conducted. Basing on the results of the research, we will be able to define the perception of UK consumers about eco-friendly apparel, the influence of sustainable strategy on the brand image of a company and the main barriers to purchase ethical clothes.
