Existují různé typy multifunkčních zařízení, které mohou používat rozdílné způsoby účtování tisku, skenování a kopírování. Multifunkční zařízení používají MIB (Základ spravovaných informací) pro uchovávání těchto informací a je k nim přístup pomocí SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol).
