Po desetiletích bojů o začlenění do rozhodování, lidských práv a udržitelného rozvoje přijal keňský lid v roce 2010 novou ústavu. Hlavním rysem nové ústavy byla decentralizace vlády a vládních funkcí. Cílem bylo zajistit lokální účast ve vládě, řešit desetiletí marginalizace a nespravedlivé rozdělení zdrojů a případně snížení chudoby prostřednictvím udržitelného rozvoje. After decades of fighting for inclusion in decision making, human rights, and sustainable development, the Kenyan people passed a new constitution in 2010.
