Reflection of history and historical realities in the production of Czech fairy - tales films 50s and 60s of the 20th century.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce sleduje vyobrazení historických reálií v českých hraných filmových pohádkách natočených v 50. a 60. letech 20. století. Práce popisuje a analyzuje vývoj české filmové pohádky v dobovém kontextu a možný vliv společenské reality na její pojetí. Pohádka je většinou vsazena do doby minulé, proto je analyzován způsob, jakým filmaři ztvárnili obraz minulosti a historických reálií, které na filmového diváka bezprostředně působí. Konkrétně je sledováno prostředí, a to s důrazem na kategorie krajiny, lesa a lidských sídel, dále charaktery jednotlivých postav, jejich oděv a běžná strava. Pro ukotvení tématu a definování základních pojmů bylo nutné stručně nastínit i vývoj československého filmového průmyslu sledovaného období a hlouběji se věnovat žánru pohádky.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focusing on the representation of historical facts in the Czech played film fairy tales produced in 1950s and 1960s of the 20th century. The thesis describes and analyses development of fairy tale in Czech film in the contemporary context and potential influence of social reality on its conception. The tale is mostly set into a past times, so the thesis observes the way of portraying the modified past and historical reality, which has an impact on the viewers. The thesis specifically monitors the environment with focus on categories of landscape, forest and human settlements, as well as on of each character, its clothing and normal food. To clarify the topic and to define the basic terms, it was necessary to briefly outline the development of the Czechoslovak film industry in the given period and to describe genre of the fairy tale.
