Corporate Social Responsibility and it’s importance in the present

Abstract:

Abstrakt Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku společenské odpovědnosti firem. Cílem mé diplomové práce bude, s využitím teoretických poznatků a na základě analýzy současného stavu v oblasti CSR a výsledků z dotazníkového šetření, předložit návrhy na zlepšení v oblasti CSR ve zkoumané firmě. V I. části je vymezen pojem CSR a popsán jeho historický vývoj, jednotlivé oblasti společenské odpovědnosti, aktivity a přínosy CSR, koncept společenské odpovědnosti v České republice a i na úrovni EU, dále také reportování a komunikace CSR. Ve II. části budu aplikovat získané teoretické poznatky do praxe konkrétní firmy. Budu zjišťovat, jak firma přistupuje k CSR a jak tuto problematiku komunikuje se svými stakeholders. Formou dotazníkového šetření se budu dotazovat i na to, jaký význam má CSR pro zaměstnance firmy.

Abstract:

Abstract This thesis is focused on the corporate social responsibility - CSR. The aim of this thesis is to submit proposals for improvements of CSR in a studied company using the present state of knowledge in the field of CSR and with the help of a survey run in the company. The first part defines the concept of CSR and describes its historical development, the benefits of CSR, reporting and communication of CSR to the public, various corporate social responsibility activities, and the concept of social responsibility in general – in the Czech Republic and the EU. In the second part I will apply theoretical knowledge into practice in a specific company. I’ll find out what is the company’s current approach to CSR including the way it communicates this issue with its stakeholders. I will also run a survey among the company’s employees about their overview on the company’s CSR policy, present its results and implement them into my proposals.
