Child soldiers and their situation in African countries.

Abstract:

Afrika je kontinent, na kterém v porovnání s ostatními, působí nejvíce dětských vojáků. Problematika dětských vojáků jednoznačně není fenoménem pouze moderní doby. Její kořeny sahají hluboko do historie, vývojem technologií a změnou systému vedení válek však dostaly novou tvář. První část této práce se zaměřuje na charakteristiku vybraných pojmů, charakterizuje obsah stěžejních dokumentů, které se dětských vojáků svým obsahem dotýkají a nabízí pohled na vybrané ozbrojené konflikty ve světě. Historické příklady účasti nezletilých v armádách, rekrutování dětí a postavení žen během konfliktů je podkladem pro druhou část práce. Ta na vybraných ozbrojených konfliktech, které proběhly během posledních dekád na africkém kontinentě, objasňuje ekonomickou a politickou nestabilitu, nemožnost vzdělání, rozpady rodin, kulturní a ideologické příčiny jako hlavní důvod účasti dětí v ozbrojených konfliktech. Charakterizuje práci mezinárodních vládních a mezinárodních neziskových organizací a analyzuje případné možnosti na redukci počtu dětských vojáků v budoucnu.

Abstract:

Africa is a continent which in comparison with others operate the most children's soldiers on. Problems of children's soldiers isn't explicitely phenomenon of the modern age. Its roots go back to the deep history.With the development of technologies and with the change of the system, the leadership of wars has got a new face. The first part of this work focuses on the characteristic of chosen terms, it characterizes contens of fundamental documents, that with their contenses concern children's soldiers and it offers the view on certain armed conflicts in the world.Basis for the second part of this work are historical examples of under-aged taking part in the army, children's recruitation and women's status during conflicts. This part, on chosen armed conflicts, that went on during last decades on african continent, explains economical and political destability, impossibility of education, break-up of the families, cultural and ideological causes as a main reason of children's participation in armed conflicts. It characterizes the work of international goverment- and international non-profit organizations and it analyses appropriate possibilities for reduction of the number of children's soldiers in future.
