The End of the Cold War and its Consequences for International Security Relations

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na bezpečnostní vztahy po studené válce. V práci je na významných konfliktech a krizích vysvětlen postoj USA a Ruské federace od 90. let po současnost. Tyto dva státy jsou na každém konfliktu srovnávány metodou komparace. Důvodem výběru těchto států je odkaz studené války. Výsledkem každé komparace je určit na pozadí daných konfliktů, zda jsou vztahy více konfrontační nebo více kooperativní. V závěru práce je analýza vývoje vztahů mezi USA a Ruskou federací od studené války po současnost s přihlédnutím k možným budoucím hrozbám.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on security relations after the Cold War. The thesis explains the attitude of the USA and the Russian Federation on the major conflicts and crises from the 1990s to the present. These two states are compared in each conflict by a comparison method. The reason for choosing these states is the legacy of the Cold War. On the background of the conflicts, the result of each comparison is to determine whether the relationships are more confrontational or more cooperative. In conclusion, there is an analysis of the evolution of relations between the US and the Russian Federation from the Cold War to the present, taking into account possible future threats.
