Artefact analyses of private collection in monastery sv. Franciscus from Paola in Vranov

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the analysis of small private collection in monastery of Saint Francis of Paola in Vranov near Brno. Emphasis was laid on the ability to determine the provenance and chronology of artefacts and their art-historical analysis. The main aim of this work was to extend knowledge about material culture of the early modern era. The text includes information about origin of the collection and about its founder. Part of this work is also the history of settlement near Vranov in light of archaeological findings and history and description of Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Vranov, minims monastery and church of saint Barbara which used to stand on an old cemetery. Moreover this work deals with history of the village, especially those moments which could be potentionally atractive for future archeological excavation. Part of the work also includes information about researches, that took place at Vranov, not been published in details yet. The last part mainly applies to the modern era funeral rites in relation to the artefacts from the collection.

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá zpracováním nevelké sbírky v klášteře Nejmenších bratří sv. Františka z Pauly ve Vranově u Brna. Důraz byl kladen na možnost určení původu a chronologie předmětů a jejich umělecko-historického rozboru. Cílem bylo rozšíření znalosti hlavně na téma novověké hmotné kultury. Text obsahuje informaci na téma vzniku sbírky a jejího zakladatele. Součástí práce jsou taky dějiny osídlení blízkého okolí Vranova ve světle archeologických nálezů a také stručné dějiny a popis kostela Narození Panny Marie na Vranově, kláštera paulánů a kostela sv. Barbory, který stával na starém hřbitově. Práce se zabývá mimo to dějinami samotné vesnice, zvláště těmi okamžiky, které můžou být zachyceny během potenciálních budoucích archeologických výzkumů. Část práce obsahuje informace o výzkumech, které se uskutečnily přímo na Vranově a nebyly dosud podrobně publikovány. Poslední část se týká hlavně novověkého pohřebního ritu ve vztahu k artefaktům umístěným ve sbírce.
