Bacteriocins - antitumour activity

Abstract:

První část této literární rešerše vychází ze stručné charakteristiky bakteriocinů a ústí do podrobnějšího přehledu o molekulárních mechanismech baktericidních účinků bakteriocinů na bakteriální buňky. Principy působení bakteriocinů jsou ukázány na kolicinech, které lze považovat za nejprobádanější bakteriociny. Zhruba dvě třetiny práce pak tvoří chronologický výčet dosavadních experimentálních výsledků, testujících myšlenku letálního efektu bakteriocinů i na eukaryotické buňky, včetně lidských. Práce je zaměřena na fakt, že alespoň některé typy bakteriocinů likvidují vyšší měrou buňky nádorové než standardní. Tento efekt už byl prokázán nejen in vitro, ale také in vivo.

Abstract:

The first part of this literature search comes out from a brief characterization of bacteriocins and leads to more detailed view of molecular mechanism of bactericidal effects of bacteriocins on bacterial cells. Principles of activity of bacteriocins are illustrated on colicines, which can be considered as the most explored bacteriocins. Approximately two thirds of this work are composed of the chronological compendium of actual experimental results, which tested an idea of lethal effect of bacteriocins also on eucaryotic cells. Work is focused on a fact, that at least some types of bacteriocins kill malignant cells more frequently than the standard ones. This effect has already been demonstrated not only in vitro, but also in vivo.
