Managing IT Project Using PRINCE 2 Methodology

Abstract:

Diplomová práce má za úkol přiblížit problematiku řízení IT projektů a vysvětlit širší veřejnosti fungování řízení projektů v praxi. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do čtyřech větších tematických celků a každá část blíže vysvětluje danou problematiku. První část obecné problematiky řízení IT projektů má za úkol uvést problematiku. Druhá část má seznámit čtenáře s metodikou PRINCE2 a vysvětlit její podstatu a základní principy. Třetí část popisuje zadávací dokumentaci skutečného projektu, který byl řízen podle firemních zvyklostí. Poslední závěrečná kapitola popisuje reálný IT projekt tak jak by vypadalo projektové řízení podle metodiky PRINCE2. Jinými slovy řečeno, kdyby se vyskytl další obdobný projekt, tak tato práce by mohla sloužit jako vzorový dokument.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis aims to approach the problem of managing IT projects and explain to the public the functioning of the management projects in practice. The thesis is divided into four major thematic groups and each section further clarifies the issue. The first part of the general problems of IT project management aims at providing the issue. The second part is to familiarize the reader with the PRINCE2 methodology and explain its essence and basic principles. The third section describes the specifications of the real project, which was controlled according to company practices. The conclusion part describes the real IT project as it would seem to project management methodology according to PRINCE2 methodology. In other words, if there were another similar project, this thesis could serve as a model document.
