The use of OT approach in patients with brachial plexus lesion

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci na téma využití ergoterapeutického přístupu u pacientů s lézí brachiálního plexu se zabývám problematikou parézy brachiálního plexu u pacientů v produktivním věku a možnostmi rehabilitační péče z hlediska ergoterapeutické intervence. Úvod obsahuje zdůvodnění výběru zaměření mé práce. V teoretické části popisuji anatomii a funkci horní končetiny, obecně periferních nervů a podrobněji brachiálního plexu. Také jeho roli při inervaci horní končetiny, typy i klinické projevy poškození. Nastíním možnosti úpravy poruchy jak spontánní, tak při neurochirurgické intervenci. Dále se věnuji ergoterapeutickým postupům při nácviku funkce postižené končetiny. V praktické části vypisuji kazuistiky dvou pacientů, jejichž součástí je kineziologický rozbor. Také jejich vstupní vyšetření, stanovení ergoterapeutického plánu a cílů. Poté následuje samotná intervence a dosažené výsledky spolu s výstupním vyšetřením u každého z pacientů. Diskuze bude zaměřena na celkové zhodnocení přínosu ergoterapie a na poznatky plynoucí z rešerše. Shrnutí práce bude obsahem závěru. Poslední stránky jsou určené k sepsaní použité literatury a přílohám.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with The use of OT approach in patients with brachial plexus lesion. I focus on the issue of brachial plexus palsy in patiens of productive age and possible options of occupational therapy´s intervention during rehabilitation care. An introduction is about reasons of choosing this topic. The general section describes the anatomy and function of an upper extremity, general knowledge of peripheral nerves and in particular of brachial plexus. Especially its role in inervation of upper limb, types and clinical signs of brachial plexus injury. I also poited out on the diferences of conservative and surgical treatment. The special part is dedicated to introduce the methods of occupational therapy´s approach in rehabilitation of upper extremity´s function. The main part focused on practise, contains case studies of two patiens including a kinesiological analysis. Further, an initial assesment, an occupational therapy´s plan and an objectives, an occupational therapy´s intervention, a final assesment with an achieved goals are also mentioned. The following discussion deals with results of therapy and in a conclusion I summarized my thesis. Last pages are made for an used literature and appendices.
