Children's understanding of moral rules

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce je dětské chápání morálních pravidel. Cílem práce je prokázání orientace v problematice morálních pravidel a dětského chápání těchto pravidel. V první kapitole vysvětluji základní pojmy, které se objevují v souvislosti s problematikou morálky a pravidel. V druhé kapitole se zabývám jejich rozlišením, různými pojetími a porozuměním jim z pohledu dítěte. Třetí kapitola je věnována významnému psychologovi, filosofovi a vědci Jeanu Piagetovi. Tento významný člověk se proslavil především svou teorií kongnitivního vývoje. V další kapitole figuruje Lawrence Kohlberg, který je známý pro své studium úrovní a stádií morálního vývoje. V páté kapitole jsou rozebrány i jiné teorie morálního vývoje, kterými se zabývala spousta dalších výzkumníků. Dozvíme se zde také, zdali má inteligence vliv na morální vývoj. V šesté kapitole vysvětluji, jak Carol Gilliganová oponovala Lawrenci Kohlbergovi a jak morálku rozdělila na mužskou a ženskou. V této kapitole nechybí ani Sigmund Freud a jeho teorie. V další kapitole se zmiňuji o tom, jak moc důležitá jsou pravidla a morální chování pro fungování společností a kultur. Na závěr jsou uvedeny poznatky z vlastní zkušenosti s dětmi.

Abstract:

The topic of this thesis is children's understanding of moral rules. Its aim is to prove the orientation in moral rules and children's understanding of it. In the first chapter I explain the basic concepts that appear in relation with the issue of morality and rules. In the second chapter I deal with their definitions, differences in their understanding and children's understanding to them. The third chapter is devoted to an important psychologist, philosopher and scientist whose name is Jean Piaget. This significant man is famous for his theory of cognitive development. The next chapter is about Lawrence Kohlberg who is known for his study of levels and stages of moral development. In the fifth chapter there are discussed other men and their theories of moral development. It is learned that intelligence does not influence the moral development. In the sixth chapter I explain how Carol Gilligan resisted to Lawrence Kohlberg and how she divided morality into the male and the female. In this chapter there is also some information about Sigmund Freud. In the another chapter I mention the importance of rules and moral behaviour in the function of society and culture. In the last chapter is a knowledge of my own experience with children.
