Corporal punishment in families with children with behaviour disorders

Abstract:

The thesis deals with corporal punishment in families with children with behavior disorders. The main aim of this thesis is to carry out piloting research which would examine the extent of corporal punishment in families with children with behavior disorders or with children with hyperkinetic disorder. The result of this thesis is to determine the differences between families with and without children with behavior disorders or hyperkinetic disorder in the area of incidence, frequency, form of corporal punishment, as well as the perceived fairness of these punishments by children. The quantitative research was conducted on 84 respondents. The sample was divided into three groups. First group consisted of children diagnosed with behavior disorders (N=28), second group consisted of children diagnosed with hyperkinetic disorder (N=28) and control group consisted of children without those diagnosis (N=28). Respondents ranged in age from 12 to 16 years. We used one questionnaire to obtain the data.

Abstract:

Témou diplomovej práce sú telesné tresty v rodinách s deťmi s poruchami správania. Práca si stanovila za cieľ uskutočniť pilotáž výskumu, ktorý by mal preskúmať rozsah výskytu telesných trestov v rodinách s deťmi s poruchami správania a s deťmi s hyperkinetickou poruchou. Výsledkom práce je zmapovanie rozdielov výskytu telesných trestov v rodinách s deťmi s poruchami správania či hyperkinetickou poruchou a v rodinách s deťmi bez týchto porúch. Rozdiely mapujú výskyt, frekvenciu, podobu telesných trestov a taktiež napríklad spravodlivosť týchto trestov vnímanú deťmi. Kvantitatívny výskum bol uskutočnený na 84 respondentoch. Výskumná vzorka bola tvorená troma súbormi. Výskumný súbor č. 1 (N=28) bol tvorený deťmi s poruchami správania, výskumný súbor č. 2 (N=28) bol tvorený deťmi s hyperkinetickou poruchou a kontrolný súbor (N=28) bol tvorený deťmi bez týchto diagnóz v anamnéze. Respondenti sa pohybovali vo veku od 12 do 16 rokov. Metódou zberu dát bol dotazník vlastnej konštrukcie, ktorý bol určený deťom.
