Employee satisfaction and organizational leadership style

Abstract:

The main objective of this diploma thesis was to closely research relationship between leadership and job satisfaction in 11 companies in Czech Republic and Slovak Republic. The research was conducted through the questionnaires. I focused on the comparison of perception of satisfaction with the leadership approaches of paternalist leaders and team leaders. The aim of the comparison was to examine the perception of importance of the job satisfaction factors and to analyze the differences in satisfaction with the leadership approaches between male and females and between employees holding secondary school degrees and employees holding university degrees. The research confirmed positive correlation of the overall employee satisfaction with the leadership approach and the leadership approach is positively correlated with the effective department management and fair treatment. The employees attributed the highest level of importance to the leadership approach, relationships with co-workers and interesting work and work environment. The difference in the satisfaction with the leader and the leadership style was not significant.

Abstract:

Hlavným cieľom tejto diplomovej práce bolo bližšie preskúmať vzťah pracovnej spokojnosti a leadershipu v rámci 11 firiem z Českej republiky a Slovenska. Výskum prebiehal prostredníctvom dotazníkov. Zamerala som sa na porovnanie paternalistu a tímového vedúceho vo vnímaní spokojnosti s prístupom. Cieľom bolo preskúmať aj vnímanie dôležitosti jednotlivých faktorov pracovnej spokojnosti a rozdiel spokojnosti s prístupom vedúceho u mužov a žien a u stredoškolsky a vysokoškolsky vzdelaných. Bola preukázaná pozitívna korelácia celkovej spokojnosti zamestnancov so spokojnosťou s prístupom lídra a spokojnosť s prístupom lídra pozitívne koreluje s dobre vedeným oddelením a spravodlivým prístupom. Zamestnanci najvyššiu mieru dôležitosti prisudzovali prístupu lídra, vzťahom so spolupracovníkmi, zaujímavosti práce a pracovnému prostrediu. Rozdiel medzi spokojnosťou s lídrom a štýlom vedenia (paternalista a tímový vedúci) nebol významný.
