Grapho-poetics in contemporary literature for children and youth

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá vztahem obrazu a slova, výstavbou a uměleckými prostředky v literárních dílech určených dětem, které představují moderní knižní grafopoetiku. Zkoumá grafické vizualizace a podíl textové a výtvarné složky ve vybraných dílech od 60. let 20. století do současnosti. Zvláště pak věnuje pozornost autorským projektům Květy Pacovské a Daisy Mrázkové, vizuální účinnosti básní Jiřího Hiršala, Bohumily Grögerové a Jiřího Koláře. Mimo poetiku některých knih pro děti (např. věnuje pozornost fragmentarizaci textu, ideogramu, piktogramu, akrostichu, rébusu) se zaměřuje na určité znaky produkce a recepce dětské knihy, neboť knižní ilustrace a grafická podoba knih zaujme dětské i dospělé vnímatele.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the relation between a picture and a word, the construction and artistic devices in the children?s literature that present modern graphic poetics. It also looks into the graphical visualization and the ratio between text and pictorial part in the selected pieces released since the 1960´s until now. I especially focus on the Květa Pacovská's and the Daisy Mrázková's work as well as visual part of the Jiří Hiršal's, Bohumila Grögerová's and Jiří Kolář's poems. Apart from some children's literature poetics (for example it pays attention to fragmentation, ideogram, icon, acrostic and rebus), the thesis is interested in the specific signs of production and perception of the children's literature, as the book's illustration and graphic form catches not only children's but also adults' attention.
