The analysis of demand for green hotels in Hradec Králove region

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá provozem ubytovacího zařízení šetrným ve vztahu k životnímu prostředí. Cílem byla analýza poptávky po ekologických hotelech v Královéhradeckém kraji, následné srovnání s nabídkou služeb vybraných ubytovacích zařízení a na základě provedených analýz navrhnout vhodná doporučení. Po úvodním objasnění pojmu trvale udržitelný rozvoj, byla popsána poptávka. Jednak obecně, ale především z pohledu ekologického hotelnictví. Dále se práce zabývá možnostmi aplikace green managementu, a s tím souvisejícími ekologickými certifikáty. Též nebyla opomenuta ekologická ocenění, která hotel může získat. Stěžejní částí práce je analýza poptávky po ekologických hotelech, která byla provedena mezi obyvateli v rámci Královéhradeckého kraje. Tato analýza přinesla výsledky, které byly očekávány. Poptávka po těchto službách je téměř nulová. Mnozí obyvatelé nemají o existenci takových ubytovacích zařízení žádné povědomí. Často, aniž by si toho byli vědomi, při svém ubytování ekologické prvky hotelem aplikované ale využívají. Druhá část průzkumu byla zaměřena na nabídku ekologických služeb. V tomto kraji se nenachází žádné ubytovací zařízení, které by vlastnilo ekologický certifikát. I přes tento fakt se zdejší ubytovací zařízení snaží o šetrný přístup k životnímu prostředí. Překážkou k zažádání o certifikaci je jednak nedostatečná poptávka zákazníků, ale také vysoké finanční nároky na získání certifikátu. Na základě provedené analýzy byla pro jednotlivé hotely navržena doporučení, týkající se ekologických služeb. Dále byly předloženy návrhy na zlepšení informovanosti obyvatel o těchto ubytovacích zařízení, včetně doporučení na snížení požadavků pro udělení ekologického certifikátu. Autorka došla k závěru, že nabídka ekologických služeb by mohla být v České republice na dobré cestě. Chybí ale poptávka po těchto službách, která je způsobena nedostatečnou informovaností a zainteresovaností obyvatelstva.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the operation of environmentally-friendly accommodation. The aim was to analyse the demand for eco-friendly hotels is the Hradec Králové region, a subsequent comparison of the range of services of the chosen accommodation establishments. On the basis of the result then suggest an appropriate recommendation. After the initial clarification of the concept of sustainable development, the demand was described. First in the general point of view but mainly that of ecological hotel business. Further, this thesis deals with the possibility of the application of green management and its certificates that go with it. The ecological awards that hotels could get were also mentioned. The main section comprises of the analysis of the demand of eco-hotels which was conducted among the residents of the Hradec Králové region. The result of this analysis was as expected. The demand of these services is close to zero. Many residents have no idea that these types of establishments exist. However, they often unknowingly use these eco-friendly services in hotels. The second part of the survey focused on the range of environmental services. In this area, there is no establishment that owns an environmental certificate. Despite this fact, the local accommodations try to respect the environment. The problem with asking for a certificate is that, firstly, the demand is not high enough and secondly, the certificate is costly. On the basis of the analysis, recommendations concerning the environmental issues and its services have been given to these establishments. Furthermore, proposals to raise public awareness were given, as well as recommendations for reducing the requirements for granting an environmental certificate. The author concludes that the range of eco-friendly services in the Czech Republic is on the right track. However, there is little demand for these services because the population is not aware of, or interested in it.
