Abstract:

Diplomová práce popisuje základní mikroekonomické a makroekonomické teorie, především teorii spotřebitele (z pohledu teorie deklarovaných i projevených preferencí), teorii produkce, model nabídky a poptávky, mikroekonomické základy makroekonomie, definici HDP, modely IS–LM a AS–AD, Okunův zákon, Phillipsovu křivka a princip komparativní výhody. Předpoklady těchto teorií jsou podrobeny zkoumání z hlediska logické konzistence a souladu s publikovanými empirickými studiemi. Platnost předpovědí popsaných jednotlivými teoriemi je taktéž ověřována, a to buď na základě publikovaných empirických studií, nebo na základě vlastní práce s veřejně dostupnými statistickými daty.

Abstract:

This thesis describes the fundamental microeconomic and macroeconomic theories, in particular consumer theory (from the viewpoint of declared and revealed preferences), the theory of production, the model of supply and demand, microfoundations of macroeconomics, the definition of GDP, the IS–LM and AS–AD models, Okun's law, the Phillips curve, and the comparative advantage principle. The assumptions of these theories are scrutinized in terms of both logical consistency and agreement with published empirical studies. The validity of the predictions made by the theories is also placed under scrutiny, either by comparing them to published empirical results or based on our own work with publicly available empirical data.
