Roma Family with a Child with Down Syndrome in a Socially Excluded Locality - a Case Study

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na případovou studii Romské rodiny s dítětem s Downovým syndromem v sociálně vyloučené lokalitě. Na začátku práce jsou popsána základní teoretická východiska, přičemž jsou zde popsána jednotlivá témata, kterých se tato diplomová práce dotýká. Výzkumná část se opírá o teoretické poznatky. Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit, jaké jsou možnosti a limity udržení rodinných vztahů biologické rodiny s dítětem s Downovým syndromem svěřeného do pěstounské péče na přechodnou dobu. Ve výzkumu byla použita kvalitativní výzkumná strategie, která byla vedena formou longitudinálního výzkumu, přičemž zde byla využita metoda nestrukturovaného narativního rozhovoru, pozorování a analýzy dokumentů. V rámci zpracování získaných informací bylo použito otevřené kódování. Všechna získaná data byla následně vyhodnocena a reflektována se získanými teoretickými znalostmi.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on a case study of a Romani family with a child with Down syndrome in a socially excluded locality. At the beginning of the thesis, the basic theoretical background is described, while the individual topics covered in this thesis are described. The research part is based on the theoretical findings. The aim of the research was to find out what are the possibilities and limits of maintaining family relationships of a biological family with a child with Down syndrome placed in foster care for a temporary period of time. A qualitative research strategy was used in the research, which was conducted in the form of longitudinal research, and the method used here was unstructured narrative interview, observation and document analysis. Open coding was used in the processing of the collected information. All the data collected was then evaluated and reflected with the theoretical knowledge gained.
