Living with histamine intolerance

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the life of patients with histamine intolerance. Qualitative research, as the chosen research method of the bachelor thesis, is carried out through standardized interviews with patients suffering from histamine intolerance. Three objectives are set for diagnosing the disease, educating patients and the life of patients with histamine intolerance. It was found that in case of most informants it took more than a year to diagnose the disease, they often rated education in this topic as inadequate and stated that life with histamine intolerance itself has many difficulties. As an outcome of unfavorable findings from the analysis of results, an information leaflet was created as a brief tool to better inform the public about histamine intolerance.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca je zameraná na život pacientov s histamínovou intoleranciou. Kvalitatívny výskum, ako zvolená výskumná metóda bakalárskej práce, je realizovaný pomocou štandardizovaných rozhovorov s pacientami trpiacimi histamínovou intoleranciou. V práci sú stanovené tri ciele zamerané na diagnostikovanie tohto ochorenia, edukáciu pacientov a život pacientov s histamínovou intoleranciou. Bolo zistené, že u väčšiny informantov trvalo diagnostikovanie viac ako rok, edukáciu častokrát hodnotili ako nedostatočnú a samotný život s histamínovou intoleranciou nesie so sebou mnoho ťažkostí. Z dôsledku nepriaznivých zistení z analýzy výsledkov bol vytvorený informačný leták, ako stručná pomôcka k lepšej informovanosti verejnosti o histamínovej intolerancii.
