Creation of images for security printing using conventional and thermochromic offset inks

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce byla tvorba obrazců bezpečnostního tisku pomocí termochromních a konvenčních ofsetových barev. V teoretické části je zmíněna barva jako smyslový vjem, její objektivní popis a správa barev. Poté jsou zde popsány modely použité pro predikci tiskových barev: Murray-Daviesův, Yule-Nielsenův, Neugebauerův model a jeho rozšíření. Závěrem teoretické části jsou popsané charakteristiky konvenčních a termochromních barev. V experimentální části jsou z naměřených dat získané přenosové křivky a kolorimetrické parametry konvenčních a termochromních barev (hodnoty XYZ, reflexní spektra). Dále byly provedeny výpočty dle vybraných modelů pro simulaci vybraných přetisků. Na závěr byla na základě těchto hodnot, vyhodnocena shoda přetisků s modelovanými hodnotami na vytištěném vzorníku.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was to create patterns for security printing with the aid of thermochromic and conventional offset inks. In the theoretical part colour is introduced as sensual perception, then it is objectively described and so is colour management. Consequently, models for prediction of printing colours are defined i. e. Murray-Davies, Yule-Nielsen and especially Neugebauer´s model, also in its extended form. Characteristics of conventional and thermochromic inks are described in the end of the theoretical part. In the experimental part transfer curves are created based on measured data and also colorimetric parameters (XYZ values, reflective spectra). Then the calculations were made based on selected models for simulation of particular overprints. In the end consistency of real overprints with model values on the printed colour patches was tested.
