Actuality of the work Raízes do Brasil by Sérgio Buarque de Holanda in the understanding of the problem of corruption as a social phenomenon in Brazil

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on depiction of corruption in the work Raízes do Brasil by the author Sérgio Buarque de Holanda. The aim of the work is to answer, whether the author managed to capture the corruption tendencies of Brazilian society, even though the work itself does not directly address corruption. In addition to that, the focus is also put on the question of whether the set phenomena reflect the results of today’s research on corruption in Brazil, and thus verify the relevance of the work.

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca sa zaoberá zobrazením korupcie v diele Raízes do Brasil od autora Sérgio Buarque de Holanda. Cieľom práce je zodpovedať, nakoľko sa autorovi podarilo zachytiť korupčné tendencie Brazílskej spoločnosti, hoci dielo samotné o korupcii priamo nepojednáva. Okrem toho stojí v centre záujmu aj otázka, či dané javy reflektujú výsledky súčasného výskumu korupcie v Brazílii, čo umožňuje overiť aktuálnosť diela.
