Práce se zabývá postavením žen střední třídy ve viktoriánské Anglii a způsobem, jakým toto postavení popsaly sestry Brontëovy ve svých románech. The thesis deals with the position of middle class women in the Victorian period and the way it is depicted in the works of the Brontë sisters. The analysis is based on the novels of the sisters namely: Jane Eyre, Villette, Shirley and The Professor by Charlotte Brontë, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and Agnes Grey by Anne Brontë and Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë.
