Abstract:
Obraz Giambattisty Tiepola (1696–1770) s názvem Svatá Tekla přimlouvající se za město Este se nachází v apsidě dómu v Este, kde byl umístěn roku 1759. Ikonografie díla odkazuje k moru, který v letech 1630–1631 zasáhl Itálii a od kterého Este podle tradice zachránila právě jeho patronka sv. Tekla. Abstract:
The painting St. Thecla Liberating the City of Este from the Plague by Giambattista Tiepolo (1696–1770) is located in the apse of the Duomo di Este where it was placed in 1759. The iconography of the painting alludes to the plague epidemic which devastated Italy in 1630–1631 and from which the city of Este was saved by its patron st. Thecla.
