The analysis of the series Semester produced by internet TV Stream.cz

Abstract:

Ve své práci se věnuji internetovému seriálu Semestr. Zaměřila jsem se na jeho rozbor, a to z hlediska tzv. multidiskurzivní analýzy odvozené od konceptu J. Mittella (2004). Cílem práce bylo kombinovat analýzu televizní formy (tedy zohlednění textuálních charakteristik seriálu) s analýzou aspektů různých fází jeho vzniku (předprodukční fáze, developmentu, produkce, propagace i distribuce) a jeho mediální a diváckou recepcí. V tomto ohledu práce naplňuje aktuální metodologické trendy prosazující kombinaci více tradičních metodologií (formální analýzy, production studies, divácká studia). Do analytického procesu jsem zakomponovala rozhovory s tvůrci pořadu. Zohlednila jsem i diváckou recepci ve formě diskusí o pořadu na oficiálních i neoficiálních webových platformách a sociálních sítích. Hlavním cílem byl tedy popis a interpretace tohoto formálně inovativního projektu, a to při zohlednění specifického produkčního a distribučního kontextu internetové televize Stream.cz.

Abstract:

In my diploma thesis I devote to internet series Semestr. I focused on analysis from the point of view multidiscursive analysis derived by the J. Mitell's concept (2004). The aim of my diploma thesis was to combine analysis of television form (take account of textual series' characteristics) with analysis of aspects of different stages it's origin (pre-production phase, development, production, propagation and distibution) and it's medial and spectator reception. In all aspects the thesis fills the current methodological trends which promote the combination of more traditional methodologies (formal analysis, production studies, spectator studies). I also incomporate interview with series creators into the analytical process. I took account of spectator reception in the form of discussions about the series on the official as well as on unofficial webs' platforms and social netwoorks. The main aim was the description and interpretation this formal inovativ project, namely by consideration the specific production and distibutive kontext of internet' television Stream.cz.
