Education as a Necessary Part of a Comprehensive Treatment of Psychosis

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zjistit, jak pacienti s psychózou, hospitalizovaní v Psychiatrické nemocnici v Kroměříži, vnímají edukaci, zda mají dostatek potřebných informací o své nemoci, zda mají o tyto informace zájem a jaké jsou jejich požadavky. Úkolem je dovědět se z pohledu pacientů s psychotickým onemocněním, jak hodnotí edukaci o psychózách poskytovanou v ambulantních a ústavních podmínkách, jakým způsobem jsou edukováni a zda jsou pro nemocné informace tohoto druhu dostupné a srozumitelné. Teoretická část práce charakterizuje psychózy, jejich druhy, příčiny, průběh nemoci a dostupné formy léčby. Dále pak popisuje důležitou roli rodiny v průběhu terapie, její nelehkou situaci a možnosti podpory. Poslední kapitola je věnována nezbytné psychoedukaci, jako součásti prevence relapsu psychóz. Praktickou část tvoří kvantitativně orientovaný deskriptivní výzkum provedený dotazníkovým šetřením.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor work is to find out how the patients with psychosis hospitalized at the psychiatric hospital in Kroměříž perceive education. Whether they have enough impor-tant information about their illness, whether they are interested and what their requirements are. The focus of this work is to recognize how these patients with the psychotic illness evaluate the education about the psychosis which is carried out at the outpatient unit or the hospital unit and that from their point of view. What forms of education is undertaken and whether all information given to the patients is fully understandable and accessible. The theroretical part characterizes psychosis, forms, causes, the progression of the disease and all the available treatmens. Furthermore, it indicates the important role of the family during the process of the treatment, its difficult situation and the possible support. The last part is dealing with the concept of necessary psychoeducation as a part of prevention of the psy-chotic relapse. The practical part consists of quantitatively orientated descriptive research which has been carried out through the questionnaire survey.
