Using of time management items in hotel industry

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou time managementu v práci manažerů v odvětví cestovního ruchu, konkrétně v hotelovém průmyslu. Cílem diplomové práce je zanalyzovat využití jednotlivých nástrojů time managementu používaných manažery. Teoretická část diplomové práce je zaměřena primárně na definici pojmů spojených s time managementem, popis historie a vývoje time managementu a následně popis hotelového průmyslu, jeho historického vývoje a specifických rysů. Cílem analytické části je získání informací od samotných manažerů působících v oblasti cestovního ruchu – jak v sociodemografické rovině, tak také v rovině týkající se struktury jejich názorů na time management a jejich preferencí při využití konkrétních nástrojů. V závěru analytické části jsou prověřeny předem dané hypotézy a důraz je kladen na vyhodnocení dat získaných dotazníkovým šetřením. Zpracování dat je provedeno statisticky za pomoci kontingenčních tabulek a grafů. Výsledky jsou, s akcentem na zachování přehlednosti, zobrazeny procentuálně. Podařilo se získat data celkem od všech oslovených 66 manažerů. Z provedeného výzkumu vyplývá, že většina manažerů považuje time management za součást své manažerské práce. Prakticky však nevyužívají pouze a jen jeden jeho nástroj, naopak většina z manažerů svůj čas řídí za pomoci kombinace více různých nástrojů. Návrhová část práce je zaměřena na konkrétní soubor možností pro řízení času manažera působícího v hotelové organizaci / podniku. Přínosem diplomové práce je získání konkrétního přehledu o struktuře nástrojů, které manažeři používají při své práci. Výsledky diplomové práce pomohou manažerům, za použití daných nástrojů, zefektivnit řízení času.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of time Management in managerial work in tourism, particularly in the hotel industry. It analyzes the use of various instruments of time Management used by managers. The theoretical part focuses primarily on the definition of terms related to time Management, description of its history and development as well as the development and specific features of the hotel industry. The analytical part focuses to obtaining information from managers involved in the tourism, both in socio-demographic area and as for the structure of their views regarding the time management and their preferences in using specific instruments. The final part verifies anticipated hypothesis with the emphasis on the evaluation of data acquired through questionnaires. The data has been processed statistically with the help of contingency tables and graphs. The results are, with the emphasis on maintaining clarity, shown in percentage. Data from total respondents of 66 managers has been received, which represents a rate of return of 100%. The research indicates that most managers consider the time Management a part of their managerial work. However, in practice they do not just use one of its instruments. Most of them manage their time using a combination of several different instruments of time Management. The final suggestions focus at a specific set of possibilities of time Management for managers working in a hotel organization / enterprise. This thesis contributes to obtaining a specific survey on the structure of tools that managers use in their work. The results of this thesis will help managers, using given instruments, to manage the time more effectively.
