Finitiveness in the Czech language system

Abstract:

Práce na základě stručného přehledu a kritického hodnocení dosavadního vývoje jazykového zkoumání tzv. fázovosti dějů předkládá rozšíření stávající identifikace hranic z dosud tradičně vymezovaného začátku, pokračování a konce dějů na jazykovou identifikaci ohraničenosti konečných entit bytí a vědomí ve spojení s jejich časovými a prostorovými určeními a nově vymezuje potřebu co nejúplnějšího popisu jejich jazykového vyjádření souborem finitivních prostředků. Navržený popis finitivnosti a jejích vyjadřovacích prostředků je strukturován do čtyř základních souborů ohraničovaných entit, tj. substancí, dějů, vlastností a okolností a vymezuje strukturu jazykových pojmenování finitivnosti do dvou skupin, časové a prostorové. Speciální pozornost je věnována gramatickému, tj. sémantickému a syntaktickému popisu analytických finitivních prostředků v tradiční konfrontaci se slovesy modálními ( nominalizace, pasívní transformace, aspekt, negace, rozvíjení) a typologii finitivních větných konstrukcí v konfrontaci s typologií větných konstrukcí zpracovanou v Skladbě češtiny Grepla-Karlíka. Shrnující závěr formuluje i náměty dalších okruhů jazykové analýzy finitivnosti.

Abstract:

The presented thesis deals with the problem of verbal finitiveness and Aktionsart. Author summarises and criticises the current approaches to thedistribution of ingresives, finitives and terminatives and suggests thatthe problem of verbal finitiveness is connected with the limitation of being and consciousness and their space-time description. The inventory of language expression of finitiveness is therefore applied to the above-mentioned philosophical phenomena. Four basic groups of finitiveness are distinguished - substances, actions, qualities and circumstances. The language description is distributed among the spacial and temporal groups. Author also centers on the semantic and syntactic description of the analytic language finitiveness together with modals nominalisation, transformation into passive, aspect, negation) and a typology of finitive clauses. Other clause types are also confronted with the theory. The final summary suggests further research in the language analysis of finitiveness.
