Nonprofit organization and their position at the market

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce analyzuje funkci neziskových organizací v moderním sociálním státě s ohledem na vývoj v posledních dvaceti letech v České republice. Zaměřuje se především na místa, kde se služby neziskového sektoru střetávají s konkurenčními subjekty, především s příspěvkovými organizacemi a podnikatelskými subjekty. Hledá důvody pro veřejnou podporu neziskových organizací a to jak finanční, tak nefinanční povahy. Podrobně se na několika modelových příkladech zabývá dotační politikou státu, smysluplností dotací, a hledá slabá místa dotační politiky vůči neziskovým organizacím. V závěru se tato práce zabývá neoprávněným zvýhodňováním některých neziskových organizací vůči jejich konkurentům z řad neziskového sektoru i vůči jiným, např. podnikatelským subjektům.

Abstract:

This thesis analyses the role of non-profit organizations in a modern welfare state with regard to the development in the Czech Republic within past twenty years. Above all it focuses on the situations when the non-profit sector services encounter the competitive subjects; contributory organizations and business entities in particular. It looks for reasons for financial as well as non-financial public support of the non-profit organizations. It contains a few examples that deal with the state endowment policy and the meaningfulness of grants in detail. It also tries to find the weak points of the endowment policy towards the non-profit organizations. Finally, the thesis deals with unjustified favoring of some non-profit organizations over their competitors from the non-profit sector as well as competitors from other sectors, e.g. business entities.
