Anotace:

Školy jsou primárním sociálním kontextem pro studenty při vytváření sociálních vztahů. Tato disertační práce, sestávající ze čtyř studií, zkoumá vrstevnické vztahy raných adolescentů v České republice. Pomocí analýzy sociálních sítí se zabývá tím, jak se formují vztahy mezi studenty a jak vrstevnické vztahy studenty ovlivňují. V souladu s principy analytické sociologie se tato práce zaměřuje na mechanismy, kterými agentnost studentů přispívá k formování sociálních struktur, a zároveň jak tyto struktury recipročně ovlivňují agentnost studentů. Studie A zkoumá vlivy endogenních mechanismů, pohlaví a socioekonomického statusu na formování vrstevnických vztahů a odhaluje, že socioekonomický status významně ovlivňuje formování jak pozitivních, tak negativních vztahů. Studie B zkoumá vliv etnicity na formování vrstevnických vztahů v kontextu ukrajinské uprchlické krize a ukazuje, že etnické složení třídy ovlivňuje sociální integraci ukrajinských studentů. Studie C zkoumá vliv vrstevnických vztahů na vnímání rolí šikany studenty, přičemž dyadické vztahy, vrstevnické skupiny a normy šikany ve třídě ovlivňují vnímání těchto rolí studenty. Studie D analyzuje vznik interakcí mezi studenty během skupinové práce ve třídě a ukazuje, že interakce jsou ovlivněné především endogenními strukturálními mechanismy a přátelstvím. Společně tyto čtyři studie dokazují, že charakteristiky studentů často chápané jako individuální vlastnosti – například sociální atraktivita a aktivita – jsou inherentně závislé na širším relačním kontextu.

Abstract:

Schools are the primary social context for students, where they develop social rela-tionships. This thesis, comprising four distinct studies, explores the peer relations of early adolescents in the Czech Republic. It investigates how students’ relationships are formed and how these peer relations influence students using social network analysis. In line with the principles of analytical sociology, this work focuses on the mechanisms through which students’ agency contributes to the formation of social structures and, reciprocally, how these structures influence students’ agency. Study A examines the effects of endogenous mechanisms, gender, and socioeconomic status on the formation of peer relationships, revealing that socioeconomic status signifi-cantly influences the formation of both positive and negative relationships. Study B investigates the effect of ethnicity on the formation of peer relationships in the con-text of the Ukrainian refugee crisis, demonstrating that classroom ethnic composi-tion impacts the social integration of Ukrainian students. Study C explores the effect of peer relations on students’ perceptions of bullying roles, showing that dyadic rela-tionships, peer groups, and classroom bullying norms all influence students’ percep-tions of these roles. Study D analyzes the emergence of interactions among students during classroom group work, indicating that interactions largely emerge from en-dogenous structural mechanisms and friendships. Together, the four studies provide evidence that characteristics often understood as individual-level traits – such as social attractiveness and activity – are inherently non-individual and dependent on a broader relational context.
