San Zenone Chapel in the Basilica of Santa Prassede in Rome.
Abstract:
Diplomová práce se zabývá detailním ikonografickým rozborem a ikonografickou interpretací. Jednotlivá témata jsou posouzena z hlediska jejich původu, a vývoje. Práce se pokouší doložit, že by celkový ikonografický program mohl být spojen s funerální funkcí kaple a je pozouzen možný vztah k byzantské pohřební kapli, Paraclesionu, ve které je zpravidla hlavním tématem poslední soud.
Abstract:
The thesis is focused on iconographic analysis and interpretation of mosaics in San Zenone Chapel in the Basilica of Santa Prassede in Rome. All mosaic themes are reviewed in terms of their origin and development. The thesis aims to prove that the central theme could be connected with the funeral function of the chapel.
