Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce „Vzájemný vliv dospělého studenta a začínajícího tutora v individuálním vyučování: případová studie založená na preferencích stylů učení“ je sledovat pokrok studenta, stejně jako profesní růst začínajícího tutora během tří měsíců individuálního vyučování a popsat vliv využití učebních stylů na vyučovací proces. V teoretické části práce jsou uvedena specifika učení se cizímu jazyku, specifické potřeby dospělých studentů a specifika individuálního vyučování. Především ale teoretická část práce vysvětluje pojmy učební styl a učební strategie a představuje dva dotazníky učebních stylů, které později hrají důležitou roli v praktické části práce. Praktická část pak zachycuje vývoj vyučovacích hodin a sleduje jak pokrok studenta i tutora, tak jejich vzájemné ovlivňování ve vyučovacích hodinách způsobené rozdíly v jejich preferovaných stylech učení. Pokrok studenta je zdokumentován výkonem v závěrečném testu a profesní růst učitele pak dokládá pedagogický deník zachycující několik úvodních hodin.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis “The Mutual Influence of an Adult Learner and a Beginning Tutor in One-to-One Classes: a Case Study Based on Learning Style Preferences” is to follow the progress of the learner as well as the professional growth of the beginning tutor during three months of weekly one-to-one English classes and to identify the role of their preferred learning styles in the process. The theoretical part of the thesis pinpoints the specifics of second language learning, specific needs of adult students and also the specifics of one-to-one classes. Most importantly, the theoretical part explains the terms learning style and learning strategy and introduces two learning style questionnaires playing important role in the practical part of the thesis. The practical part then captures the development of the classes and follows the learner’s progress as well as the tutor’s professional growth. It also describes the mutual influence of the learner and the tutor caused by differences in their preferred learning styles. The learner’s progress is documented by the final test and the tutor’s professional growth is documented by the teaching journal capturing a few initial classes.
