Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Význam knihy pro děti a dospívající: kritická diskursivní analýza knihy“ pojednává o tom, jaký význam má literární kniha se svým příběhem a procesem čtení pro děti a dospívající. Čtenářství jedinců se buduje již v jejich dětství a velkou měrou se na tom podílí vzor a působení rodičů. Knihy pak jedince provází celým jeho životem. Nelze je ale chápat jako pouhou výplň volného času, neboť vhodně trávený volný čas je jen jedním z efektů, který s sebou čtení knih nese. Cílem diplomové práce je ukázat, jak knihy působí na život dětí a dospívajících, jakou úlohu v jejich životě sehrávají. Jednou ze základních tezí, na níž je diplomová práce postavena, je fakt, že se knižní narace výrazným způsobem podílejí na socializaci jedince. Knižní příběhy jsou proto v diplomové práci pojímány jako socializační prvky, které čtenářům nabízejí nejrůznější normy, hodnoty, modelové situace a jejich řešení. Dalo by se říci, že knižní příběhy pod vlivem v dané společnosti a kultuře aktuálních diskurzů zasvěcují čtenáře/posluchače do dané kultury a společnosti a přitom na ně mocensky uplatňují diskurzivní vliv. Důležité proto je nejen klást důraz na to, aby rodiče četli svým malým dětem, seznamovali je s knižními příběhy, pěstovali v nich touhu po čtení, aby si i následně samy děti a dospívající četli, ale nutné je také věnovat pozornost samotným knižním příběhům, v nich ukrytých ideologií, norem a celkově vzato diskurzů, které skrze jazyk – v tomto případě psaný text, na jedince mocensky působí. Součástí diplomové práce je proto i metodologická část, jejíž součástí je provedená kritická diskurzivní analýza knihy, která je určena pro děti od dvanácti let.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis, “The importance of books for children and adolescents: a critical discourse analysis of books”, discusses the importance of the stories in literary books and the process of reading these books for children and adolescents. Reading for individuals is built in their childhood and is largely dependent on the model and influence of parents. Books then accompany individuals throughout their lives. Books cannot be understood merely as a leisure time activity because appropriately spent leisure time is just one of the effects that can come from reading books. The aim of this thesis is to show how books influence the lives of children and adolescents. One of the fundamental ideas on which this thesis is based, is the fact that the book narrations substantially contribute to the socialization of the individuals. Therefore in this thesis, the stories in books are seen as socialization features which offer readers a variety of norms, values, model situations and their solutions. The influence of society and current cultural discourses in stories help socialize the readers/listeners into their culture and society and at the same time stories apply their discursive power and influence on the reader/listener. It is important to place emphasis on making parents read to their children, acquaint their children with stories, and cultivate a desire for reading. It is also necessary to pay attention to the stories children and adolescents are reading and the hidden ideologies, norms, and discourses in the stories because language, in this case written text, can have powerful effects on individuals. Therefore in the methodological part of the thesis is made a critical discourse analysis of book read by children over twelve years old.
