Manipulation in Romantic Relationships.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou psychické manipulace v partnerském vztahu. Mapuje proces jejího rozvoje, zabývá se charakteristikou osobnosti psychického manipulátora a uvádí projevy a strategie, které manipulátor v partnerském vztahu využívá. Dále charakterizuje vlastnosti a projevy osobnosti manipulovaného, poukazuje na možné důsledky psychické manipulace pro její oběť a uvádí obranné strategie a techniky, jak se manipulaci co nejúčinněji bránit. Kvalitativní výzkum, který je založen na jednopřípadové osobnostní studii, vychází z dat získaných ze série polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Analýza těchto rozhovorů by měla pomoci osvětlit proces rozvoje manipulace v konkrétním partnerském vztahu, kde obětí je žena a poukázat na možné destruktivní následky, které psychická manipulace v partnerském vztahu své oběti nevyhnutelně přináší.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis concerns psychological manipulation within romantic relationship. It maps the process of its development, describes personality traits and charakteristics of the manipulator and lists the behaviour and strategies that manipulator typically uses. Further it explains characteristics and behaviour of the manipulated party, points out possible negative consequences and gives examples of effective strategies and techniques how to face and cope with the above. Qualitative research is based on a single-case personality study and uses data from series of halfstructured interviews. The analysis of these interviews is targeted to help shed light on the process of manipulation development in a specific relationship, in which the victim is a female. It points out possible descructive consequences, which psychological manipulation inevitably inflicts on the manipulated victim.
