Process of radicalization and analysis of the perpetrators of selected terrorist attacks

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou islamistického terorismu. V teoretické části jsou vysvětleny klíčové pojmy související s tímto tématem a představeny některé významné teroristické organizace. Hlavním tématem teoretické části je radikalizace. Je zkoumáno jakým způsobem probíhá, kteří jedinci jsou radikalizací více ohroženi a proč. V praktické části jsou analyzováni pachatelé vybraných teroristických útoků. Jsou zjištěny typické charakteristiky, kterými se vyznačuje většina útočníků. Práce je uzavřena diskusí, která řeší možný vývoj terorismu v následujících letech.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the problem of Islamic terrorism. The theoretical part explains the key concepts related to this topic and introduces some major terrorist organizations. The main topic of the theoretical part is radicalization and its process. Furthermore it is investigated why some individuals are threatened by radicalization more than others. The practical part analyzes the perpetrators of selected terrorist attacks. Typical characteristics that most attackers have are identified. The work is concluded with a discussion that addresses possible developments in terrorism in the coming years.
