Bakalárska práca popisuje a analyzuje právnu úpravu ručenia, ktorá je obsiahnutá v občianskom a obchodnom zákonníku platnými v Slovenskej republike. Zaoberá sa aj históriou právnej úpravy ručenia. Práca obsahuje relevantnú judikatúru súdov týkajúcich sa úpravy ručenia. Súčasťou práce je aj komparácia právnej úpravy v občianskom zákonníku s úpravou v obchodnom zákonníku.
