Toll-like receptors and their role in systemic inflammatory reaction

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o Toll-like receptorech a shrnuje jejich působení v systémové zánětlivé reakci. Popisuje jednotlivé Toll-like receptory, jejich strukturu, lokalizaci, expresi a signální dráhy. Zabývá se bakteriálními a virovými specifickými molekulárními vzory spojenými s patogeny se zaměřením na jejich rozpoznávání prostřednictvím Toll-like receptorů. Stručně vystihuje funkci Toll-like receptorů v řadě onemocnění, ovlivnění Toll-like receptorů vnějšími vlivy a možnou léčbu.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with Toll-like receptors and summarizes their impact on systemic inflammatory response. Different Toll-like receptors, their structure, localization, expression and signaling pathways are described here. It deals with bacterial and viral specific molecular patterns associated with pathogens and it is focused on their recognition through Toll-like receptors. It briefly describes the function of Toll-like receptors in a number of diseases, affection of the Toll-like receptors by external effects and possible treatment as well.
